After a mere decade of announcements, feasibility studies and administrative procedures, Rincón de la Victoria Council has approved the specifications for the bidding process to construct an indoor heated swimming pool.
The future swimming pool will be on a 4,942 square metre plot of land near La Marina college in Torre de Benagalbón and the basic facility will be an eight lane pool of a depth varying from 1.2 to 1.6 metres plus a children’s pool.
The concessionaire, with a 35 year term, will provide €2.8 million of the funding and the Junta de Andalucia will provide €2.4 million, bringing the total investment to €5.2 million. The completion period has been set at 18 months.
Assessment of bids will take into account energy-efficient design, the use of renewable energy and rational use of water.
The Council will support changes and improvements to the project for such supplemental services as fitness facilities, hydrotherapy, whirlpool, Jacuzzi or sauna.
