The Council has approved a motion to urge the Junta de Andalucia to urgently assume the payment of the funds to begin two employment projects, the Taller de Empleo Acueducto del Águila and the Escuela Taller Nerja Sierramar.
In the motion, the Council point out that the projects were agreed by the Department of Employment of the Junta de Andalucia last year and should have started in January at the very latest. However, nothing has so far happened.
According to the Council, the projects would help 87 people in the municipality.
Given that municipal and provincial authorities have not been voluntarily parting with money for some few years, why should the regional authorities be any different?
