Napoleon on display in the Nerja Museum

The ‘Napoleon’ skull, a fragment of bone dating back 4,300 years which was discovered in the Nerja Caves in 1960, is now on display in the Nerja Museum.

The bone fragment is called the ‘Napoleon’ because part of the petrified skull fragment includes a stone shaped like the hat worn by the Emperor Napoleon. The fragment dates back to the Copper Age and, according to one researcher, belongs to a 17 year old.
