A number of municipalities will start today to pay off debts to suppliers, some dating back twenty years, by means of ICO loans signed with various banks, although the bulk will begin this process on Friday.
The loans have to be repaid within ten years and Councils have been forced to make ‘adjustment plans’ in order to qualify for the loans. The Ministry of Finance has designated eleven banks to direct payments to suppliers.
