Two boats have been intercepted off the Almeria coast with a total of twenty-two illegal immigrants on board, all of whom are now enjoying the hospitality of the National Police in Almeria port.
The first boat, carrying fourteen passengers, was intercepted at 19:00 on Tuesday evening after having been spotted by a merchant vessel. The boat was about 50 miles off the coast.
The second boat, with eight passengers on board, made it to within two miles of shore near Punta Sabinar, El Ejido, before also being intercepted.
