A fire near Lanjarón forced the evacuation yesterday of around one hundred people from the hippie settlement of Pago del Beneficio near Órgiva.
The fire began in the afternoon and in addition to the evacuations in Pago del Beneficio, several other farms had to be evacuated as a precautionary measure. Livestock was also moved out of harms way.
Eight helicopters and three planes are helping to control and extinguish the blaze.
