Police have arrested 29 year old Ozguir Dogan, a Turkish national, in connection with an acid attack on his wife, 29 year old María Ángeles R.G. at her home in Pueblo Nuevo, Ciudad Lineal.
On Thursday, Maria Ángeles requested a restraining order against her husband with whom she is in the process of separating. Then, as she left her home, she was sprayed in the face with sulphuric acid and is now in hospital.
Due to her hospitalisation, the restraining order was not processed but police decided to arrest the husband for the alleged ofence of domestic abuse. The husband denies any connection with the incident and stated that he had never raised his hand to his wife.
