A 47 year old teacher from Zafarraya, Granada, who was on holiday and spending the day with friends in Torrox, drowned yesterday on El Morche beach.
Eugenio, single and with no children, was staying in Algarrobo Costa and visiting friends in Torrox for the day. Bathers noticed the body floating a few metres from shore and brought him ashore where lifeguards tried unsuccessfully to revive him.
It is thought that the man suffered some sort of health problem while swimming and an autopsy is being carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
