Fatality on El Morche beach, Torrox

A 47 year old teacher from Zafarraya, Granada, who was on holiday and spending the day with friends in Torrox, drowned yesterday on El Morche beach.

Loss of Blue Flag status criticised

The Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Torrox (ASECOT) and the local PP have criticised the government for the loss of the Blue Flag status for El Morch beach, saying that it damages the tourist image of the resort. The Mayor, Francisco Muñoz, replied that he did not know the reasons for the withdrawal of the Blue Flag status.

Cemetery expansion in Torrox

Torrox Council is investing €162,000, funds from the Segundo Plan Proteja, for improvements to the cemeteries in Torrox and El Morche.
