Nerja Caves Festival deemd a great success

For the very first time in the history of the Nerja Caves Festival, details of the sales of tickets and other items have been announced, the latest in a series of  initiatives introduced by the new manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ruiz.

This year, tickets were (actually) available and were priced at €25, €30 and €40 depending upon seat location. Previously it was a flat fee of €50. Tickets were also available online for the first time.

There was less use made of outside companies, the work being carried out by Foundation staff, and overall costs were reduced by around €100,000 without impacting upon the quality of the festival. And the duration of the festival was actually longer than in previous years.

A total of 2,612 tickets were sold this year, 55% more than last year, with 4,029 people attending the various performances, a seat occupancy rate of 84%. Several days of the festival were sold out in advance.
