The Council intends to name the singer Pastora Soler, who represented Spain at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, as Tourist of Honour 2012.
Pastora Soler is receiving the accolade for her positive statements about the town and her links to Nerja. It is fairly common to see her wandering around town and she has also helped out at the FITUR stand on several occasions.
The motion to name Pastora as Tourist of Honour will be debated and approved at tomorrow’s plenary session of the Council.
The award ceremony will take place on September 5th 2012 as part of the Day of the Tourist celebrations.
