The Education Department of the Junta de Andalucia has changed the rules relating to payments to teachers performing extracurricular activities, such as morning room monitor and lunch monitor, in order to provide greater efficiency in the organization and operation of these complementary services.
Until now, such activities were compensated with a flat ‘day rate’ of €13.95, but this will now change to an hourly rate of €6.95 and with the calculation made using fractions of an hour as necessary. The, seemingly normal, one and a half hour extracurricular activity will now cost €10.42 and not €13.95 as was previously the case.
