The fire which began yesterday in Alicante has been brought under control but has now cost the lives of two people, an environmental official and a fireman.
The fire began at 13:00 on Sunday and affected the municipalities of Torre de les Maçanes, Penáguila and Benifallim. The fire, which destroyed about 600 hectares of land, is now under control and no flames are present.
