Helicopters and amphibious aircraft have once again taken to the skies today to continue the efforts to extinguish the blaze near the town of Bédar in Almeria province.
The fire began on saturday in an area of scrub and esparto grass in the Pago de las Molineras near the AL-6109 between Bédar and Los Gallardos. Residents were evacuated from their homes on Saturday as a precautionary measure and most spent the night in the Sports Centre in Los Gallardos.
The ground forces fighting the fire were boosted by the deployment of 72 members of the Emergency Military Unit from Morón de la Frontera and 29 vehicles, including six fire engines.
