RTVA has announced its intention to unify the Canal Sur Televisión broadcasts, which means that Canal Sur 2 will disappear by 2013.
Canal Sur 2 will broadcast the same programming as Canal Sur but with subtitles and sign language, making it the only fully accessible channel in Spain.
The justification for the move is a need to reduce costs and unification will result in a reduction in expenses of 20%. However, there will apparently be no reduction in the workforce.
