Provincial authority to study the possibility of a new well in Archidona

Technicians from the Department of Environment of the Provincial Government will visit Archidona next week to study the capacity of existing aquifers in the municipality and the possibility of sinking a new well to provide an alternative source of drinking water.

The water in Archidona has been declared ‘unfit for human consumption’ and trucks are currently having to bring in water to the town twice a week until the problem is resolved. A new well would help prevent such situations occurring in the future.

The Department of Environment will also be looking into the water supply problems, mainly drought related, in other towns and villages in Málaga province, including Colmenar, Sierra de Yeguas, Campillo, Totalán, Monda, Ubrique, Casabermeja, Abdalajís Valley and Montejaque.
