Police in Vélez-Málaga have arrested a 27 year old man as the alleged perpetrator of a series of sexual abuses in the town, the incidents beginning in the summer.
The modus operandi was always the same. The perpetrator would follow his victims, girls usually aged around 21 years, although in one case a minor, as they walked down the street alone.
He would tap them on the shoulder and then give them a hug, using the opportunity to fondle their breasts. He would then run away. The investigation, which began back in August, was made by the lack of full description of the attacker as the incidents were always brief and he fled immediately afterwards.
However, the police caught a break when a witness noticed a car in the area at the time of an attack and remembered part of the licence plate. This led to the detention of the alleged perpetrator, a Spanish national with prior convictions.
