An unemployed 53-year-old man from Valencia is in a stable condition in hospital after throwing himself from his balcony just hours before he was due to be evicted from his home.
Manuel G. kissed one of his children before leaping off his balcony in the Burjassot district of Valencia, moments before bailiffs showed up with their eviction order. A similar incident occurred in Granada when a 54-year-old man, also due to be evicted, was found hanged. Some 400,000 people across Spain are currently facing eviction.
