The Belgian athlete Tia Hellebaut, European high jump champion on 2006 and Olympic champion in Beijing 2008 has once again chosen to come to Nerja to train, using the facilities of the Enrique López Cuenca Sports Stadium.
She was last in Nerja in April, training for the London Olympics where she finished fifth. Tia Hellebaut started out competing in combined events, such as heptathlon and pentathlon, but never really achieved international success until she switched to the high jump.
