In yet another case of domestic violence, a 25 year old woman has died in Madrid after being beaten by her partner who then apparently committed suicide by jumping from the ninth floor of the apartment block.
Police were called to a disturbance at a home in calle de Sarría in the El Pilar district where they found the body of a woman with injuries to her face and skull which suggested she had been violently beaten with a blunt instrument.
In the street was the body of her partner, a man in his forties, who had apparently hurled himself from the ninth floor.
There were apparently three young children in the apartment who required treatment from psychologists. The children have been taken in by relatives.
