The Mayor of Torrox, Francisco Muñoz (PSOE), has stated that he will not consider taking any action against the Local Police Chief, José Roque Fernández Durán, until the courts rule on his guilt or innocence for the crime of which he is accused.
The Police Chief is accused of alleged forgery committed in 2007. It is alleged that he falsified a certificate in order to enhance the CV of a local police officer. The prosecution in the case is requesting a prison sentence of four years plus a €12,000 fine.
