The State Security forces are searching for a 58 year old male, identified as former teacher Robert Edward Bill, on suspicion of the attempted abduction of a 12 year old girl in Vélez-Málaga. Bill is considered a dangerous sex offender and has convictions for such in the UK.
The incident occurred on November 19th but the initial investigation was kept under wraps. The girl was walking alone along the street in Vélez-Málaga when she was grabbed and pulled inside a vehicle. A man had apparently been standing next to the car with the door open, awaiting his opportunity.
The girl managed to escape through the opposite door and told her parents who in turn alerted the police. At the time there was little concrete evidence as to the identity of the alleged abductor but the National Police eventually managed to identify him as known sex offender Robert Edward Bill, who is thought to have arrived in Málaga in August.
The search was widened to involve all the State Security forces and also incorporated the use of Facebook and WhatsApp where the news spread like wildfire and images of the alleged abductor were displayed.
