Police are searching for the suspected thieves who tortured and robbed an 84 year old man at his home in calle La Calzada in Lucena at around 07:00 on Thursday morning.
The man, who lives alone, was asleep when the robbers entered his home. He was beaten up and had cigarettes stubbed out on his body as the thieves demanded his money. The thieves escaped with €1,500 which the man had drawn out of the bank the previous day.
The injured man was treated for cuts and burns at the hospital in Cabra.
