While everyone was waiting for the Three Kings procession to start in Salteras, Sevilla, two armed men broke into the home of a local businessman and demanded that he open his safe.
The businessman was forced to hand over €1,000. He called for help and two family members entered the house, at which point the robbers decided to flee on a moped they had left parked outside.
Neighbours heard the commotion in the house and tried to intercept the robbers, at which point the thieves fired several shots, wounding two people. The wounded were taken to hospital where the projectiles were removed. Neither person suffered serious injury.
