A woman is in a serious condition in the Hospital la Fe in Valencia after dousing herself in flammable liquid and setting herself on fire. It has been reported that the victim, aged 47 years, was separated, has three dependent children and was experiencing economic difficulties relating to an eviction process.
The woman suffered burns to 48% of her body and was airlifted to the La Fe hospital after Guardia Civil officers had pur out the fire and medics at the scene had stabilised her condition.
The incident took place outside a branch of the Caja Rural savings bank in Almassora.
