The Council has agreed to set up a committee to study and propose suitable locations for a Carnival Museum. The committee would also be responsible for proposing the creation of workshops related to this popular festival.
The committee would comprise councillors from Culture, Tourism Development and Fiestas as well as representatives of Nerja Carnival. The museum currently has a temporary location.
As the Nerja Museum is looking to improve and expand its exhibits, incorporating a Carnival Museum into the existing organisation would make sense.
The recent carnival exhibition held at the Sala Mercado attracted 2,362 visitors, according to the Council.
