The ERE (Employment Regulation) presented by NH Hotels will affect 95 employees at five hotels in Andalucia. Nationwide, the ERE will affect a total of 646 employees as the company seeks to make savings of around €17 million.
The redundancies are set to occur at the NH Málaga, Plaza de Armas in Sevilla, NH Victoria in Granada, Luz in Huelva and the NH La Perdiz in Jaén.
The company is also proposing a wage cut of 4.5% and other measures with redundancies planned to start in April 2013.
The CCOO union rejects the redundancies and says that plans to outsource the cleaning service at the hotels will have an adverse effect on the quality of service being offered to clients.
