A court in Málaga is investigating the alleged sexual abuse of an eleven month old child. A middle-aged man has been arrested and is in custody as the suspected perpetrator of the crime.
The child is in a stable condition in hospital after having been admitted last Friday. The mother had been changing the nappy on the baby when she noticed an injury and took the child to the hospital. After examining the child, pediatricians activated the protocol relating to suspected child abuse.
The detainee rents a room in the house belonging to the mother and, as he was the only person in the house at the time of the incident, was arrested as the prime suspect. Forensics experts have been asked to make a more thorough investigation of the injuries to the child.
