Jesús Maeztu, currently the commissioner for the Sur industrial estate, will be the new Ombudsman for Andalucia, replacing José Chamizo who had held the position for the past seventeen years.
The selection of the Ombudsman for Andalucia is regulated by Law 9/1983 which states that the Internal Government Committee will propose a candidate to Parliament and to be appointed must obtain three-fifths of the votes of the members of the House.
