Police in Rincón de la Victoria have arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of eight thefts from vehicles during April and May of this year. The detainee has a long criminal record including an arrest in 2008 for trying to rob a bank.
The detainee, a resident of Almachar, was caught by a police patrol while he was changing the number plates on a vehicle. Police noticed that entry into the vehicle had been forced and during a search they found the real plates.
Police identified the man as a suspect in a number of thefts and he was arrested. At his home police found a number of stolen items, such as car stereos, which are now being returned to their rightful owners.
