A 32-year-old Endesa worker died on Tuesday after receiving an electrical shock while working on a lamppost in Antequera, Málaga province.
The incident occurred in the area known as Cortijo Machuca, between carretera del Valle de Abdalajís and Antequera. A second workman had just got down from the post when the electrical discharge took place.
After cutting the power to the area, fireman rescued the man but were unable to do anything to save his life and he was certified dead at the scene. The cause of the electrical discharge is not known.
