A 53-year-old woman was arrested in Almonte, Huelva, for pretending to place a bomb in the Virgen del Rocío hermitage.
The village of El Rocío was playing host to 3,000 young people taking part in activities related to the celebration of World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
National Police officers were alerted to the possible existence of a bomb after a suspicious object was found in one of the confessionals. The hermitage was closed for three hours while experts examined the object.
The suspicious object turned out to be a pressure cooker. Officers located the woman suspected of placing the object and she was arrested on charges of crimes against the collective security.
