A fire, thought to have been started intentionally, has destroyed 17 hectares of pine forest and scrub land in the La Torre area of Ardales, Málaga province.
The fire began at around 22:30 on Sunday night. Favourable winds allowed the blaze to be brought under control by 01:00 on Monday morning, otherwise the flames could have threatened the town of Casarabonela and the Sierra de las Nieves.
