An 86-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the building where he lived in Piedras Blancas, Asturias, after allegedly stabbing his 83-year-old wife to death.
The incident occurred at around 08:00 on Saturday morning. Police initially thought that the man, J.F.A., had suffered a fall but when they went in to the home they found the body of his wife. She had suffered a number of stab wounds and contusions to the chest.
The woman, I.O.G., had been bedridden for years and was in the terminal stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
