A Málaga resident had to be rescued on Tuesday night after suffering a fall while walking along the rio Chillar in Nerja, specifically in the Salto Grande area.
The hiker, aged around 50 years, apparently suffered fractures to his leg and hip after the fall and was in great pain. Fortunately the accident occurred in an area where vehicular access was possible and he was rescued by the Civil Protection.
A helicopter rescue had been contemplated but was discarded due to the fact that it was dark.
