Over 350 athletes have registered to take part in the First Grand Tour of the Genal Valley, a 95 kilometre race over three days which will take in all fifteen municipalities of the Serrania de Ronda.
The event takes place on October 25th, 26th and 27th with both team and individual races. Some 245 people have entered for the individual race.
The race will go through Jubrique, Genalguacil, Pujerra, Igualeja, Parauta, Cartajima, Júzcar, Faraján, Alpandeire, Atajate, Benadalid, Benalauría, Algatocín, Gaucín and Benarrabá. There will be 15 stations in each town with various drinks and snacks and there will also be hot meals available after each section of the race as well as physiotherapy, podiatry and other services.
It will be the chestnut season at the time of the race and the various winners in the race will be presented with their own weight in chestnuts.
