An 87-year-old Dutch national, only in the country a few days, died in Torremolinos after what is thought to have been a bag snatch.
Police are investigating the incident and the main theory is that she had her bag snatched by someone on a motorcycle and this caused her to fall to the ground where she hit her head and subsequently died from her injuries.
Although this is the main avenue of investigation, other possibilities are still being considered such as whether her bag was actually taken by someone other than the attacker who took advantage of the situation.
The woman and her husband were out walking when suddenly, according to the husband, his wife was on the floor and a motorcycle was disappearing into the distance. Medics tried to revive the woman but without success.
