Gibraltar is due to receive its first ship laden with aggregates during Wednesday, 2,500 tons of stones destined for landfill operations on the east side of The Rock.
Spain is maintaining a ban on the sale of aggregates to Gibraltar and so the authorities on the Rock have arranged for shipments from Algeria with the ship stopping off in Portugal on the way. The stones will be used to reclaim land on the eastern side of the Rock.
