On Tuesday, technicians from the Ministry of Environment signed the preliminary document verifying readiness for construction of the sewage plant for Nerja, one of the many mandatory steps in the process relating to the project.
The next stage will be the signing of the construction contract by the company awarded the contract by the Ministry of Environment.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has expressed confidence that the contract could be signed in November, once a number of outstanding steps have been carried out satisfactorily. After this comes one of the most important steps, the signing of the actual document verifying readiness for construction.
Once the contract is signed, construction could, and should begin within one month of that date.
