A 55-year-old woman, one of a group of people apparently rummaging through a landfill site in Jaén, died on Wednesday morning after being hit by a compacting machine.
Companions of the deceased woman subsequently attacked the driver of the machine and he is now in the ICU Hospital Neurotraumatológico where his condition is said to be serious.
Two people have been arrested and the Guardia Civil are investigating the incident.
