The body of a British national in his sixties was found on Wednesday in the kitchen of his cave house in Guadix, Granada, after the roof apparently collapsed.
Police and firefighters had to prop up the rest of the house before the body could be removed, an operation which took around four hours.
The authorities were alerted by neighbours who stated that they had become concerned after not seeing the man for up to two weeks.
