Out and About December 1st 2013…

Christmas lights, NerjaThe first Christmas lights started to go up on Sunday at around lunchtime, with Plaza Cavana the first on the agenda this year. Always nice to have the lights, makes the centre look quite festive once they are all up and running

The roadworks continue in calle Carmen, the road leading up to Plaza del Elefante Blanco, or Plaza de España as it is officially known.

Nice clear skies and the sun was out, but the wind was a bit chill at times. Great in the direct sunlight.

Still quite an eclectic mix of shorts and t-shirts, shorts with thick jackets and full winter gear to be seen on the streets. It can be quite warm during the day but there have also been some very cold times and some of the legs walking round would not have looked out of place on a smurf.

The roadworks also continue in calle Chaparil.

The front of the new coffee shop is all ready, just the inside to be completed.

An inordinate amount of dog poo around this morning, it seemed to be everywhere. What was worse, however, was the gut-wrenching stench along the river by the first road crossing near the mouth of the river. Not having had any rain to speak of, the mind boggles as to just what this torrent was.

The whole area stamk, not just the immediate vicinity. There was also quite a powerful aroma up near the Supersol supermarket, although not quite as strong fortunately. Definitely something amiss somewhere.

Interesting comments on the “dog poo problem” which has blighted Nerja for far two many years now.
