Guardia Civil, Local Police and the Fire Brigade participated in the rescue of a man who had fallen from the cliffs near La Caleta beach in Maro.
The incident occurred late on Tuesday night in an area known locally as Huerto Romero, although it wasn’t until Wednesday afternoon that his friends found him and alerted the authorities.
The man, a Polish national aged around fifty years, was taken first to the Health Centre and then on to the District Hospital in Vélez-Málaga. His condition is said to be serious.
