Police dismantle network offering contracts for cash

The Guardia Civil has dismantled yet another network offering fake employment contracts in exchange for pecuniary recompense, with 422 people being detained following raids in various parts of the country.

Among those arrested are beneficiaries of contracts, network members, the head of the organisation and fourteen inmates currently enjoying third grade (open) prison.

The arrests took place in Algeciras y Cádiz capital, Huelva, Sevilla, Jaén, Málaga, Granada, Logroño, Valencia, Valladolid, Las Palmas, Vitoria, Toledo, Cáceres, Murcia, Tenerife, Alicante, Castellón, Guipúzcoa, Navarra, Barcelona, Oviedo, Gijón, Madrid, Teruel, Bilbao, Girona and Mallorca.

People who paid for obtaining these contracts did so to collect unemployment benefits , obtaining residence permits for foreigners and access to prison benefits as third grade prisoners.

The investigation, codenamed ‘Relisto’, is ongoing and further detentions are not being ruled out.
