National Police officers have arrested a man on suspicion of shooting dead a Chinese woman who ran a grocery shop in the Madrid suburb of Moratalaz.
At around 15:30 on Sunday, witnesses reported seeing a masked man enter the shop and, after allegedly shooting the woman in the head, run out with the cash register. The man was apprehended shortly after, three police officers suffering bruises during a struggle with the alleged killer.
Police are working on the hypothesis that the shooting occurred as the result of an attempted robbery.
