Restoration of old sugar mill completed

Vélez-Málaga Council has apparently finished the renovation of the old Virgen del Carmen sugar mill building in Torre del Mar, a project which has already cost €2.5 million and taken nine years to complete.

Work will now begin to adapt the interior of the building which will house a museum dedicated to sugar cane and will also be the headquarters of the future School of Industrial Organisation (EOI).

The Council is also planning to clean up the square in front of the building through the use of funds from the Plan for the Development of Employment in Agriculture (Profea). Naturally!
