The European Investment Bank is providing funds of €46 million for the implementation of lines 1 and 2 of the Málaga Metro after analysing the economic viability and social profitability of the underground system.
The money will allow the hiring of staff for the two lines to Perchel-Maria Zambrano and for equipment and dynamic tests at El Perchel.
The EIB supports an amendment to the Metro plan which includes a sbterranean section to Atarazanas in the centre of the city and an overground section to the Hospital Civil.
