Police in El Ejido, Almeria, are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident on Monday in which one person died and several others were injured.
The alleged killer, a 60-year-old from Jaén but living in El Ejido for a number of years, appeared on Monday night at the victim’s house with a shotgun. The attacker shot the man in the shoulder and then in the chest. The victim, aged 49 years, was taken to hospital in Poniente but died from his wounds.
A woman and a 20-year-old man who tried to intervene were both wounded in the incident and are currently in hospital.
The alleged killer, who was arrested shortly after the shooting, and victim knew each other and it is thought that the problem between them was an old quarrel relating to economic issues.
