A 38-year-old man was arrested in Nerja on Saturday after trying to run over one Local Police officer and squirting pepper spray at another officer as he attempted to flee the scene on a motorcycle.
Police were investigating reports about the presence of a suspicious individual in urbanisation La Noria and they managed to surprise the man as he tried to make his escape from a house he was allegedly burgling.
The man put up strong resistance and attempted to make his getaway on a moped, attempting to run over one of the officers and spraying pepper spray at another.
Finally, with the help of several local residents, the alleged burglar was subdued and arrested. He has been remanded in custody and has been charged with the alleged crimes of burglary, disobedience, resisting arrest and assaulting a law enforcement officer.
