The Council has announced the creation of a commission that will be responsible for studying the actions to be carried out on the ruins of the old watchtower at the end of Torrecilla beach.
Technicians from the Department of Culture, along with Guillermo López and Antonio Sánchez, secretary and architect of the Provincial Department of Culture, Municipal Architect Rafael Sánchez, the Councillor for Culture and the Mayor of Nerja were all down at the beach to view the situation.
The first phase will be to make an architectural study of the ruins and the foundations of the former watchtower.
Phase two would be to preserve the existing ruins to prevent further deterioration and to avoid accidents.
Phase three would be a more informative study to determine various aspects of the ruins and their surroundings.
